  • 1969

    Company formed by Alan Driver & Deutsche-Holzveredelung based in Kibworth, Leicestershire.

  • 1970

    Begin supplying coal bunker linings and other products to the National Coal Board.

  • 1973

    Moved to Selby Drive, Oadby. First manual routers installed to offer bespoke machining.

  • 1977

    Negotiated partnership with leading conveyor component manufacturer to head their sales operation within the UK.

  • 1979

    Relocation to North Street, Wigston to aid expansion in engineering and conveyor sectors.

  • 1983

    Formation of Lion Plastics Ltd to distribute PE, PP & PVC sheet & rod.

  • 1985

    Relocation to three acre site in Burbage aiding growth in all market sectors. First large stock investment in semi-finished products.

  • 1986

    Merger of Lion Plastics Ltd with Oadby Plastics Ltd.

  • 1988

    Demise of the coal industry leads to increased focus on semi-finished, machining and conveyor sales.

  • 1995

    Moved to Braunstone Frith site to aid expansion and improve efficiency.

  • 1997

    Major investment in CNC machinery.

  • 1998

    De-merger from Deutsche-Holzveredelung allowing for independent growth. Acquisition of Northampton based machinist ABG Rubber & Plastics Ltd.

  • 2002

    25,000 sq. ft. purpose built machining facility opens at our Braunstone Frith site.

  • 2004

    Cannock branch opens specialising in the supply of PE, PP & PVC to the fabrication industry.

  • 2005

    Clear materials are introduced to expand the product range.

  • 2006

    Warrington branch opens to serve the north west region.

  • 2007

    Nylon, Acetal and other associated products are introduced to further enhance the semi-finished range.

  • 2009

    Celebrate 40 years serving industry.

  • 2011

    Onwards and upwards at Warrington with the move to new 21,000 sq ft premises. The larger site reflect the considerable growth of our Northern branch since 2006.

  • 2012

    Conveyor online shop goes live. The new e-commerce site allows the efficient ordering and processing of orders from the Oadby Plastics core range of conveyor components 24/7. Click here to visit the shop.
