Meet Liz, our Business Development Manager and Mental Health First Aider

I joined Oadby Plastics in 2008 as an Internal Sales Advisor, becoming part of a sales team that was much smaller than it is today.  Since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching our teams and business grow significantly over the years.

Before starting my journey with Oadby, I spent several years working for a textile company, where I managed the export of goods from the Far East.

Over the years, my career has grown alongside the business. During my time here, I have not only developed professionally but have also experienced significant personal milestones, including getting married and starting a family.

What does my Oadby journey look like?

Being part of such a dynamic and progressive business has provided me with fantastic opportunities for career growth and development. I started my career at Oadby Plastics as an Internal Sales Advisor before progressing to the role of Sales Office Team Leader. After returning from maternity leave, I took the position of Business Development Specialist, further expanding my skills and experience.

In 2022, I was proud to be promoted to Business Development Manager, a role I continue to enjoy today. My career journey reflects not only my own growth and ambition but also Oadby Plastics’ commitment to supporting career progression and investing in its people at every stage of their development.

What does my role involve?

Based at our Leicester Head Office, I work within the Business Development team, where we focus on identifying and growing new business opportunities, as well as developing relationships within our existing customer base.

The part of my role I value most is the opportunity to support and help those around me. I take great pride in contributing to the success of both my colleagues and our customers, and I enjoy being part of a team that works collaboratively to achieve shared goals.

What do I enjoy most about working for Oadby?

Being part of one big, fantastic team!

Although the business has grown and now operates across multiple sites, collaboration and a shared commitment to delivering excellent customer service remain at the heart of our continued success, and I simply love being part of this journey.
