Sustainability

Providing sustainable plastic materials, regenerated plastics and responsible manufacturing in the UK.

Commitment to a Greener Future

At Oadby Plastics, we’re taking meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future. From introducing sustainable plastic materials to improving waste management and expanding our use of renewable energy, our focus is on progress and accountability.

Through partnerships and continued investment in our operations, we’re reducing our environmental impact and supporting a more circular approach to plastics. We’ve already achieved carbon-neutral waste and continue to find new ways to reuse and regenerate materials wherever possible, helping our customers make responsible choices without compromising on quality or performance.

Oadby & The Circular Economy

Reduce

Reduce

We reduce waste across our manufacturing operations by optimising the available area of stock material for maximum production yield and minimum wastage – all thanks to our production planning system, and state-of-the-art CNC machining centres, which selects the optimal stock material for each customer project.

Reuse

Reuse

Although we maximise the yield per sheet to minimise wastage, there will naturally be material offcuts on machining and cutting projects, especially on short production runs. We collect these material offcuts and keep them for reuse in future jobs to reduce waste and the demand for fresh stock material.

Recycle

Recycle

We're serious about our waste streams and focus particularly on our plastic production waste. Although our products are durable and used in long-life applications in industries like healthcare, medical and automotive, we understand that recycling our production waste has a positive impact on the environment.

Environmental Policy

Our sustainability commitments reflect more than current practices; they represent a pledge for the future.

We continually seek ways to reduce environmental impact, close the loop on materials, and build a circular economy, ensuring our operations benefit both people and the planet for years to come.

  • Comply with and exceed environmental legislation and best practice.
  • Minimise waste, water, and energy use across all facilities and vehicles.
  • Promote products and services that reduce environmental impact.
  • Offer materials made from up to 100% recycled content where possible.
  • Assess environmental impacts of potential new processes or products.
  • Review our Quality & Environmental Policy often with senior leadership.
