A Sustainable Future for Plastics Manufacturing

In an industry often defined by output and precision, Oadby Plastics is proving that performance and sustainability can go hand in hand.

As one of the UK’s leading plastics machinists and stockholders, we are conscious of driving meaningful change across our operations. From waste reduction to renewable energy, we are proud of the steps we are taking to create a cleaner, more responsible future for our customers and the wider industry.

Carbon-Neutral Waste and 99% Landfill Diversion

Through our partnership with Envirovue, we’ve achieved carbon-neutral waste processing and now divert over 99% of all material away from landfill. Offcuts, swarf, and sheet remnants are carefully collected, sorted, and repurposed – proving that sustainability is achievable even in high-output manufacturing environments.

This approach not only reduces our environmental impact but also supports customers in meeting their own sustainability goals by ensuring the materials they source are handled responsibly from start to finish.

Investment in Renewable Energy

To further reduce our footprint, Oadby Plastics has invested in solar panel installations across our Leicester, Cannock, and Braintree sites, helping to power production and logistics operations with clean, renewable energy. These initiatives form part of a broader strategy to cut emissions and increase efficiency across our national network.

Sustainable Products Through Strong Supplier Partnerships

We also offer a range of sustainable plastics products, sourced through our trusted relationships with top European manufacturers. These materials allow customers to reduce their environmental impact without compromising quality or performance.

Key sustainable products include:

PE 1000 – R | Polyethylene – Reprocessed with ultra high molecular weight is a reprocessed, low-cost, alternative to our standard virgin grade PE1000 material. This material carries similar properties to PE1000, such as good wear resistance and sliding properties. PE1000-R does have some minor restrictions and is not recommended for food contact.

PE 500 – Confetti | Polyethylene – Reprocessed with high molecular weight offers a viable alternative to virgin grades when considering less critical applications. This multi-coloured product offers a low cost material that will not decay or corrode.

PP / PE – R | Polypropylene / Polyethylene – Regenerated is a regenerated material consisting of a mix of PP and PE. This product offers similar properties to virgin grades but without any warranty. This material is not recommended for welding.

PP – R | Polypropylene – Regenerated is similar to the above but with the added advantage of being weldable, for non-critical applications.

Featuring these products helps customers source greener materials confidently, while our supplier relationships mean we can access additional sustainable options on request for bespoke or high-volume projects.
