Employee Spotlight - Verity Wykes
Introducing Verity Wykes, Finance Coordinator, at our Leicester head office.
Verity has been with us for an impressive 15 years and still takes pride in learning and developing in her role within the business.
1. How long have you been working at Oadby Plastics?
VW - "15 years and 3 months"
2. What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
VW - "I loved the idea of sitting at a computer with a phone and feeling ‘important’. I applied for the admin job here, but I was offered the accounts role - it went from there"
3.What does your job entail?
VW - "Coordinate a variety of daily financial processes for the Oadby Group and provide support to the team"
4. What’s been your proudest accomplishment since working at Oadby Plastics?
VW - "Getting my promotion last year to Finance Coordinator. Oh, and meeting my husband here of course!"
5. What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now?
VW - "Learning more in-depth parts of accounts and putting them into practice"
6. What was your first job?
VW - "I worked at Argos part-time during my last year of school"
7. What one skill do you think everyone should learn?
VW - "Swimming"
8. Recommend a TV show and/or book you have recently watched/read
VW - "MAFS – Married at First Sight"
9. What do you do for fun outside of work?
VW - "Going out and about with my family. We have recently discovered our new found love for camping"
10. Tell us one interesting thing about yourself that people maybe unaware of
VW - "I only have one kidney"
